Officials registration is now open. REGISTER HERE

FANCY a few days in the Queensland winter sunshine in the company of world-class rally drivers? All you have to do is join the team of volunteer officials staging the International Rally of Queensland (IROQ) in May 2017.

The rally visits the Sunshine Coast and Mary Valley on 26 -28 May and will host Round 2 of the FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship, plus round 3 of the Australian Rally Championship and round 3 of the Queensland Rally Championship.

A big contingent of volunteer officials has signed up already, but many more positions remain available for people both with and without experience. Register here and you could, for instance, be manning a road block as Skoda factory star Fabian Kreim of Germany slides past at speed in the latest Fabia R5 WRC2-spec car or see Japan's Fuyuhiko Takahashi in a rapid Subaru.

Many different roles for officials are available. And you can nominate where and when you’ll be available.

Register now via the link at the top of this page - and ask your family and friends to sign up too. Remember, experience isn’t essential; there will be plenty of fellow officials to show you the ropes.

The organiser for IROQ 2017 is the CAMS commercial entity Rallycorp Pty Ltd, which is also responsible for WRC Kennards Hire Rally Australia. On the ground, manning road blocks, control points, service park, headquarters and other tasks, we hope that overwhelmingly the same group of several hundred officials will be in place as always.

Senior appointments iinclude:

Clerk of Course Brian Everitt
Commercial Manager Errol Bailey
Event Secretary Julie Lucas
Deputy Clerk of Course Malcolm Bartolo
Chief Safety Officer Belinda Howard
Deputy Chief Safety Officer Aaron Bell
Chief Spectator Marshal Rian Hook
Deputy Chief Spectator Marshal Keith Jeffery
Chief Scrutineer Sam Krieger
Chief Marshal Mike Verrall
Officials Coordinator Katie Ainsworth
Course Car Manager Matt Davidson
Media Manager Chris Nixon

The rally needs officials in many roles across the event weekend and in the lead-up. If you can assist in areas such as road blocks, spectator and safety marshalling, headquarters, media, scrutineering, communications, service park, regroup, venue set-up, promotions and hospitality, etc, please register now via the link at the top of this page.

Being a volunteer rally official is rewarding and fun work; many enduring friendships are formed. At IROQ, you’ll be helping to stage one of the most prestigious rally events in Australia and hosting visitors from many parts of the country and overseas.

We hope you’ll join us in May.

Kind regards

Brian Everitt
