However, use of a UAV in an unregulated manner can create significant risk to others. This Policy governs the use of a UAV at an Event in a controlled manner.
Photographers or camera operators who wish to use UAVs at events are subject to a CAMS policy, including licensing and approvals.

OVERSEAS media attending the 2016 International Rally of Queensland on the Sunshine Coast will connect to the world using mobile wi-fi hotspots supplied by Telstra.
The hotspots will be available free to media in the pre-event media centre at rally HQ in Maroochydore and during the competition weekend in the media centre at the Globe Roamer Service Park in Imbil, in the Mary Valley.
Telstra wi-fi also will enable the vital functions of the Rally Command Centre at Imbil, which controls the running of the forest competition stages on 18-19 June.
Telstra is Australia's leading telecommunications and information services company and one of the best-known brands in the country. It offers a full range of services and competes in all Australian telecommunications markets, providing more than eight million fixed-line and 14 million mobile services.
In the Queensland Metro South East region, the local team led by Area General Manager May Boisen spans numerous Telstra-branded stores, a Telstra Business Centre and Telstra Country Wide office in Maroochydore.
Telstra prides itself on its vast geographical coverage across Australia through both fixed and mobile network infrastructure.
Supporting the local community through programs such as Telstra’s Kids Fund and in-kind sponsorships such as the International Rally of Queensland is important to the Metro and South East Telstra team, who live and work in the local community.
Telstra mobile connections are essential to the event operation and particularly to enabling international media coverage that showcased the Sunshine Coast and Gympie-Cooloola regions, says IROQ Media Manager Chris Nixon.
“The International Rally of Queensland is delighted Telstra is continuing its annual contribution to the rally, which is Queensland’s only international motorsport event.

“Reporters on deadlines uploading articles, images and video footage demand reliable, fast internet connections. Telstra’s service at IROQ demonstrate it is ability to provide this in rural and regional locations without compromise.”
